Last update
Well this is my last holiday update. Tomorrow we will be flying back to the UK.
All in all I've had a fantastic time. I've seen and done loads, so much in fact that it feels like we've been out here for much longer. My highlight of the whole holiday would have to be the Girffiths Observatory Planetarium. Geeky I know but it was totally awesome! Second on my list would have to be the X2 at Six Falgs Magic Mountain. One of the craziest rollercoasters I've ever been on, except the ones at the top of the Stratosphere....
LA beaches where cool, we crashed some waves on some body boards. However today Daron managed to fracture his Collar Bone! He picked a fight with a wave twice the size of him. The Wave won.
I'll fill you all in on more details when I get back and there will be more photos uploaded to Facebook etc when I get back.
Oh and be gentle, jet lag is going to be a killer!
Universe + Lasers = Awesome!
Griffiths Observatory was today's destination. The only problem with visiting a site with a massive telescope is doing it with massive cloud cover! It was still an awesome experiance as we visited The Samuel Oschin Planetarium. This was one awesome view of the Universe! I actually felt like I was moving at times during the show and when it displayed the scale of the Universe it totally blew me away.
Later on in the afternoon/evening we visited Hollywood Boulevard and the Chinese Theater. We took a few photos of the Stars and Hand Prints. Pretty cool! I'm going to try and upload some of the pictures tomorrow as it's about 11:48pm right now....
Also, Venom energy drinks are pure evil. Evil I tell you!
Update: More pics on Facebook!
ROLLERCOASTERS!!!!
Today was Magic Mountain day. Awesome doesn't even cover it.
We where in early (pretty much as soon as it opened) and stayed until it was shut. By far my favorite was the X2, that's one messed up coaster! The Terminator Salvation ride was my second favorite, which was a proper wooden rollercoaster. I got a pic of me riding the X2 so you all can see that later.
Other than that we pretty did much every other "Thrill" ride in there. I was exhaused by the end of the day.
Totally awesome.
Magic Mountain
Today is Rollercoaster day! Woohoo!!!!
Tonight's update maybe ever so slightly hyper... you know the kind of hyper I get. I can feel it building right now.... bubbling to the surface...oh wait, maybe that's just breakfast....
Dude, I can't wait. Super happy fun crazy rollercoaster time!! YAY!!
Little Tokyo
Little Tokyo was totally awesome. Tons of crazy Japanese shops and a few Anime/Manga shops. Daron spent around $150 in stuff, I only spent around $90.... I'd have spent more but I'm already going to be totally broke when I get back from this holiday. Hehe.
Tomorrow is Six Flags day!
Rollercoasters for the Win!
Water!
I think I've done more swimming on this holiday than I have done for the past year! Once in Vegas and twice here so far in LA, once at the beach and the other at the Hotel Pool.
Today we are planning to go check out Little Tokyo, should be pretty cool, but ales expensive I think. Well, so long as I have enough money to get into the Theme parks later this week then all will be well.
Okies, heading off now, laters peeps!
Sand, sand and more sand.
So today was beach day. We wen't to Venice beach, today happend to be really nice weather so we got some Sunbathing in. James was all for going into the water so we all ended up in there as well. We had crazy waves that where taller than I was smashing over us. I jumped though one and ended up face first into a second one that was right behind it! Doh!
Other than that we just wandered about a bit today.
Tomorrow will be Little Tokyo, I'm so going to end up blowing my whole budget there!
Oh and I've uploaded some better pics to Facebook. Thier image upload function is much better.
Chinatown
So today was a visit to Chinatown. We where going to go to Little Tokyo as well but the Metro (we where taking the Tube for something different to do) was closed in that direction.
Anyway, we went to Chinatown, there where tons of awesome indoor markets selling just about everything you can think of. I bought myself a mini set of Samurai swords on a stand. I'm thinking of putting them on my desk for a while as they look very cool. Daron bought himself a replica of the sword from Blood: The Last Vampire, which looks totally awesome. I was very tempted to buy one that is a replica of the Sword from Bleach but I managed to remind myself that I'm going to be going to Little Tokyo at some point in the trip (which will be an expensive visit..... I can just feel it!) James was going to buy himself a replica Magnum BB gun, but when the guy tried to demo it it wouldn't work, so he didn't buy it.
Other than that we just wandered around on the Metro for while stopping at random places. Tomorrow is going to be Beach Day as it seems like it will be the hottest day during our stay in LA. We're not 100% sure on what beach to visit, so if anyone has any ideas before we get up then just drop me a comment!
Oh, we won't be doing anything like Universal Studios or Six flags until next week, so don't expect any "ZOMG ROLLERCOASTERS!!!" posts just yet.
Soon.....
Pics!
Through the marvel of modern technology I have managed to upload a number of Pics from Vegas!
If you click on the link that says Holiday in the top right of the page that will take you to the Holiday Gallery. I've had to resize the images quite a bit as the internet connection I have here didn't like uploading 100mb+ of photos.... I wonder why....
